The Best Monitors For Mac Mini in 2017

In the last post, I’ve been talking about how is Mac Mini going to get updated in 2017, but as everyone knows – if you buy Mac Mini, you will need to have your own monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

In this post, I will tell you some of the best monitors for Mac Mini in 2017.
It will meet everyone’s budget so you don’t need to worry about money here.

What is with Apple Thunderbolt display?

Apple Thunderbolt Display

Apple’s display Thunderbolt has been released in 2011, which makes it 6 years old.

It is outdated and in 6 years there have been huge updates and as you probably know, there are way better displays out there now.

Apple Thunderbolt display isn’t only outdated but is still expensive since it still retails for somewhere around $1000 US Dollars.

Also, Apple Thunderbolt display is removed from Apple’s store and it’s not available for purchase anymore.
However, Apple has LG UltraFine 4K and LG UtraFine 5K displays available in their store.

Which means that Apple probably won’t update Apple Thunderbolt since it was secretly retired. Also because they are promoting LG monitors as next best option instead of Apple Thunderbolt display.

So what are some good options?

As I have said, Thunderbolt is 6 years old and it’s retired. It’s not worth going for it anymore, but it’s not the end of the world since there are way better options instead.

Some of the best monitors for Mac computers in 2017 are:

Dell U2415 Ultrasharp Monitor

Dell U2415 Ultrasharp Monitor

If you have looked around other people’s configurations, you may have probably seen this monitor in action many times.

This is one of the best and the most popular monitors to use with Mac Pro and Mac Mini.
Also, it’s very affordable with its price tag of something under $300 US Dollars.

For $300 you will get a monitor with a little more vertical room at 16:10. It has wide viewing angles, vibrant colors, and accuracy.

Are you wondering what are it’s connectivity options?

I am happy to tell you that there are plenty of connectivity options.
These include 2 x HDMI ports, 1 Mini Displayport, a 1.2 Displayport, 5 x USB 3.0 ports and more.

It is a monitor with a flexible tilt which I like a lot, but also it has swivel, pivot and height adjustments.
You are probably wondering – is there anything else? Yes! There is.

Not only it’s full of these features, it is eco-friendly low power consumption display as well.

For the price a little under $300, this is the best replacement for outdated Apple Thunderbolt display.

If you are wondering why didn’t I suggest you to go for LG UltraFine 4K or 5K monitors which are featured on Apple’s store, I will tell you why.

I don’t say these monitors are bad, but I just find them too pricey. Actually, I think they are overpriced.

    1. Hey Brenda,

I would suggest you look up for 19-inch widescreen monitors or 21-inch widescreen monitors.
I think those sizes would be perfect for sitting close, and they aren’t too small or too big.

Thanks for leaving a question! I hope I have helped.
