Should You Buy iPhone 7 or Wait For iPhone 8

iPhone 7

It’s the time when you are deciding to buy a new phone for yourself, and you are all happy about it until you start having a hard time deciding which iPhone would you want to buy.

I understand your concern and it’s better to think it wisely before buying.

iPhone 7 caught your eye, but it’s 2017 and iPhone 8 will be released this year, so the question is should you buy iPhone 7 or wait for iPhone 8.

Point of view

It depends on how much money you have and how soon would you want to change your phone.

We can’t be sure about anything related to iPhone 8 yet, but it will be released somewhere around September in 2017 and there are rumors that it will cost a lot more than the earlier iPhone models were priced at.

iPhone 8 might cost somewhere around $1000, which is more than a traditional price of $650 for a new iPhone. Maybe the reason for this is iPhone’s 10th anniversary which is this year, so we could expect something very special.

How could we even be sure it’s gonna be named iPhone 8… There are rumors for iPhone X as a special edition for iPhone’s anniversary.

iPhone 7Comparing iPhone 7 and iPhone 6 or 6S, we have seen a lot of new unique changes like changing actual moving home button and removing the headphone jack.

But iPhone 8 compared to iPhone 7 could bring us new unique changes we haven’t seen before.

iPhone 8 will come with 5.8″ OLED display, faster A11 processor, but they will use glass body again like they have used in iPhone 4S. There is a rumor saying iPhone 8 will have an edge to edge display, something very similar to Samsung S7.

iPhone 8 will have a camera and Touch ID integrated into display because of edge to edge display, which means there won’t be home button anymore. There will be also wireless charging featured in this version of iPhone.

Rumors say there will be 3 models. One of them will use OLED display, while other two will come with standard displays.

Everybody has a different opinion, and if you aren’t really into new technology, in my opinion, it wouldiPhone 7 be the best and the safest move to stick with iPhone 6S.

If you like the changes which were made in iPhone 7, and you like the concept of iPhone 8 then you might consider waiting for iPhone 8. Be ready since there will be as twice as many changes than in iPhone 7.

There have been many changes past 2 years in iPhone models, but things which make iPhone 8 even more intriguing is that 2017 is going to be the 10th anniversary of iPhone, so we can only assume that they will surprise us with something really big.

The best deal

In my opinion, if you don’t have much money and you are not so sure or confident about iPhone 8, stick with iPhone 6S or iPhone 7 for now and you can always switch to iPhone 8 later if it comes out as the best thing.

However, if you really dig the iPhone 7, but you also love what you have read about iPhone 8, and you have a little bit more money in your pocket, iPhone 8 is definitely for you and it will be worth to wait for it.

iPhone 7

In my opinion, Apple is taking iPhone in the right direction, however, I think that they have dedicated a lot of time in iPhone 8 design this time than ever before, which could be a great thing – although I don’t know how to feel about it right now. I must see it and use it before saying anything.

Also, I have heard that Apple with iPhone 8 will beat Samsung’s S8 in sales, which is quite crazy to tell already. When models are not even completely done yet and there are many months before releasing them. Also, we can’t be quite sure yet if the rumors are true, we will have to wait and see it ourselves to decide what’s the best for us.

If you love the iPhone 7, click here make sure to grab one yourself at the best price.

I hope I have helped you with this post to learn about new iPhone 8, but also to help you decide which iPhone model would suit you the best and what to look out for.

Wow Nice article. Makes me want and iPhone. I am currently and Android Galaxy user. But this is making me rethink it a little.

I will check back when it comes out and maybe make the switch.

    Thanks for the information

    Hi Dario
Thanks for this informative article. I did not know that the iPhone 8 will only be out in late September. That seems a little ways out. I think I am going to stick with the iPhone 6S, for now, and maybe see what the iPhone 8 has to offer when it is released rather than go for the iPhone 7. I can wait. 🙂
Your rumors do sound really interesting for the iPhone 8. If u do not mind me asking but what is an OLED screen? I am just curious.
Thanks again for the information and I look forward to hearing back from u.

    • Hey Carl,

thanks for such a wonderful comment. I would do the same if I was in your place.
Well, there might be a little delay to iPhone 8 due to installing new features, but there are estimates that it will be the best selling phone in 2017.
We can’t be sure about any of that, so we’ll still wait and see 🙂

Great that you have asked that question.
OLED display stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode, which is similar to LED monitors and screens everyone has.
OLED displays are made out of organic compounds that light up when fed electricity.

It might seem that there is no difference at all, but OLEDs can be made to extremely thin, flexible and remarkably small.
They can also be made that small to be used as pixel individually in your television.

OLED wins over LED in things such as black level, color space, response time and lag, viewing angles and power consumption.

I hope I have cleared it up for you. It’s just another new technology 🙂

Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment, and thanks for asking a question.

  • Dario,
Food for thought. I’m a 6s user and nearly closed the deal on a 7 but, thought I’d wait it out. I still really like my 6s and as you alluded to, the 8 just might be that much better than the 7. Should be very interesting to see what they roll out in the fall.

    Thanks for you insight, Shane
