Top Keyboards For Mac Mini – Type With Joy

If you didn’t know already, Mac Mini will get upgraded in 2017.

Which means the cheapest Apple computer will hit the market once again after a long few years without updates. Since it’s the cheapest Apple computer, it’s going to catch much interest and I can only assume that Apple will make huge sales.

However, after purchasing Mac Mini, you will need to purchase the monitor, keyboard and a mouse separately.

If you are in a need for a monitor or a mouse make sure you check my other posts where I listed one of the best mouse and monitors for Mac Mini.

If you don’t know which keyboard to use with the Mac Mini, and you are wondering what are the best alternative keyboards for Mac Mini just continue reading the post.

Because in this post I will post one of the best keyboards, in my opinion, to use with the Mac Mini.
Wireless, wired and for everyone’s budget.

If you find Apple’s Magic Keyboard too expensive, or just uncomfortable or too small for you, don’t worry because there are many alternatives out there.

Microsoft All in One Keyboard

Microsoft All in One keyboard
Buy Now ButtonMicrosoft All in One Keyboard is a mid-sized keyboard, which can be used for various tasks.

It can be used as an office keyboard, but as well for a multimedia purpose.

If you don’t need a number pad, this is a keyboard for you then. It has no number pad, but instead of the number pad, it has a large touchpad.

The touchpad supports gestures for both OS X and Windows OS so you won’t have any problems swiping and scrolling using the touchpad.

There are also two customizable keys above the touchpad, but also you will be able to lower or turn up your volume with two volume buttons on the keyboard.

With this keyboard, you will enjoy typing and will never think you had too much of typing in a day. It has a low-key travel which means the keys aren’t hard to press at all and they are very responsive.

Also, you won’t ever need to worry if you have spilled your coffee or a drink over your keyboard because it’s spill resistant.

It’s powered by 2 AAA batteries, and it will work up to 10 meters (33 feet) from your Mac.

A black matte finish doesn’t show as many fingerprints and dust as the shiny finish, so you won’t need to think about cleaning it all the time. Although, a fast way to clean it would be to probably “accidentally” spill some water over.

It’s available on, so make sure you grab one for yourself as soon as possible.

It was said while removing Apple Magic Keyboard and connecting the Kanex MultiSync Keyboard. So you get the idea, they have improved the Magic Keyboard.

And in my opinion yes they did. Kanex keyboard is designed for Mac computers, however, it has some greatly improved features.

One of the best features is the Bluetooth connectivity which lets users switch between 4 Bluetooth devices and use the keyboard without unplugging anything.

That means you can use your keyboard with your Mac but as well with your iPad, Apple TV at the same time, by simply pressing one button to switch between those devices.

If you are a numeric pad lover, there is a num pad to increase the speed of inputting numbers.

The keyboard’s low-profile design will allow you to type fast without worrying about hitting the wrong button. There are shortcut buttons for Mac and iOS including the home button, increasing brightness control and music controls.

It’s very comfortable to type, you won’t have any problems multi-tasking with this keyboard since Bluetooth connectivity up to 4 devices at the same time is a feature which will save you a lot of time. It feels great, it’s very light and you will enjoy doing your work on this bad boy.

Typing on it will be almost the same when typing on the Apple’s keyboard. The only difference is in its size and the material.

It’s made out of plastic, while Apple Keyboard is made out of aluminum material. Also, Logitech keyboard is a little bit bigger and has a little high-profile design which makes it even more comfortable for your wrists while typing. There is a really low-key travel so people who really like the Apple Keyboard will be more than happy to use this keyboard as an alternative.

Also, there is a numeric pad which doesn’t come with Magic Keyboard, so it’s a bonus for people who need it or just love to have it for an easier number input.

Since it costs a little bit less than the actual Magic Keyboard, this keyboard makes it the best alternative for a Magic Keyboard.

Matias Tactile Pro Mechanical Keyboard

If you aren’t into low-profile design keyboards with a very low key travel, then I think you might like this keyboard.

It’s a mechanical keyboard which might look old fashioned, however, it’s specially designed to copy one of the first Apple keyboards, however, with a new and better design.

Mechanical keyboards mean that there is a mechanical spring for each key, and they are used instead of the plastic rubber underneath modern keyboards where all keys are at the same logic board.

Mechanical keyboards are a little bit louder, but typing on them is an amazing experience.

Springs under each key make it easier for you while typing by lifting the key up after you pressed it.

It’s specially designed for Mac computers and all necessary shortcuts with Mac OS x will work. It’s a really comfortable keyboard to type on for a longer period of time. Besides being a little too noisy, there really aren’t any cons to this keyboard. However, Matias has recently introduced a QuietPro model which reduces the noise of mechanical keyboard.
